Here they are.

The final five players from the class of 2010 have now been revealed. Harrison Barnes (pictured above) leads the charge in our eyes. With the summer now in the books, Barnes is the proud owner of the No. 1 spot according to the National Hoops Report.

The rest of the top five could eventually stake claim to the number one position when it is all said and done. The class is strong at the top and the high school season could lead to a change of the nation’s top player position.

For now, however, Barnes is the big man on campus. He’s earned it.

1. Harrison Barnes, SF, Ames (Iowa) Ames Senior

Everything about the 6-6 wing is professional. He is the total package of a prospect and student. Barnes has a Grant Hill type of personality and a style that would blend with any type of style. Offensively, he’s deadly from deep, strong with the dribble to the basket and big enough to create multiple mismatch problems. Barnes is one of the few players in the class that plays with a competitiveness and burning desire to win every game he plays in. His work ethic will is the separating factor between him and the rest of the class.

2. Perry Jones, PF, Duncanville (Texas)

You could make an argument for Jones to sit atop the 2010 rankings based on his pro potential. He’s clearly the best NBA prospect in the class. Does that mean he’ll be the best college prospect? It is an argument for another day. Regardless, the 6-9 post player tapped into his potential this year and showed why Baylor locked him up very early in the recruiting process. Jones is a monster of a player. He can score inside, outside and every where in between. Mix that with great athleticism, great size and a high ceiling and the Baylor Bears have a future star coming to Waco.

3. Brandon Knight, PG/SG, Ft Lauderdale (Fla.) Pine Crest

There are two Brandon Knights out there. The point guard and the shooting guard. Last year we saw the point guard. He was amazing. This year we get the shooting guard. He’s not too shabby either. Some may say that multi-personality is a bad thing. Not so much. Not for Knight. He’ll enter college ready to play both positions and in today’s evolving world of guard play, Knight will be twice as deadly. He’s physically prepared himself to be an immediate impact player in college. And college should be a short stay for the South Florida stud.

4. Jared Sullinger, C/PF, Columbus (Ohio) Northland

No one can claim more wins and more personal victories against other big time players than Sullinger. The 6-8 post has the biggest winning resume in high school hoops since Kevin Love. No one in the class or even in the classes behind 2010 can match-up with Sullinger. He’s a load on the low blocks, can score with a variety of moves and is a monster on the glass. His wingspan makes up for his height and his back side just pushes defenders out of the way with zero trouble. ESPN believes “Sullinger could be the top big man to attend Ohio State in the Thad Matta era.” Amen to that.

5. Fab Melo, C, Weston (Fla.) Sagemont

After a sizzling showing at the NBA Players Association camp in June, the Brazilian big man was the post player to see in July for some of the nation’s top schools. He’s huge and he’s skilled. That combo usually equals one short year in college for prospects these days. Melo has both traits. The effort needs to improve but once he lands in college and plays with guards that know how to take care of a big man, Melo could be a lottery pick and shaking hands with David Stern.

6. Will Barton, SG, Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy

Wiry guard can really score in bunches. Deadly from deep, midrange and at rim. Only getting better and has the swagger that the great ones have. Big time prospect.

7. Reggie Bullock, SG, Kinston (N.C.)

Big time scoring guard with big time size (6-6). Quiet killer from deep. Mixes athleticism, ball-handling, scoring and IQ into a big time pro prospect package.

COMMITTED TO NORTH CAROLINA

8. Adreian Payne, PF/C, Dayton (Ohio) Jefferson

When it comes to upside, he may be one of the very best in the nation. Dripping potential not a producer yet. Could be a Darrell Arthur clone at the end of the day.

9. Joe Jackson, SG/PG, Memphis (Tenn.) White Station

Perhaps the best athlete in the class. Electric first step. Dynamic scorer. Intense competitor. Smallest elite player in the class may pack the biggest punch.

10. Tony Mitchell, PF, Miami (Fla.) Miami Center Life Academy

The 6-8 forward used July to springboard himself into the elite discussion. Has NBA size, strength and athleticism. Great natural ability. Very high ceiling for this combo forward.

11. Tobias Harris, PF, Glen Head (N.Y.) Lutheran

Arguably the toughest power forward to defend in the country. Can score in low post, great face-up shooter and can attack with dribble. Improved body has been the key.

12. Jelan Kendrick, SF, Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake

Can play three positions and may just be at his most effective when he is playing the point. At 6-6, he’s a match-up problem everywhere he plays. Can score in big bunches, too.

13. Kyrie Irving, PG, Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick (pictured)

Dynamic point guard that can score with the best of them. Dangerous when he is getting to the basket. Very heady player that continues to get better.

14. Dwight Powell, PF, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Ultra skilled big man that just keeps getting better. Strong in the post, skilled facing up and tough inside the paint. His ascension ha been steady and strong.

15. Tristan Thompson, PF, Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep

Long and athletic big man is great around the basket and has improved as a rebounder. Runs the floor like a guard and has quick reflexes inside the paint.

Our unveiling of the class of 2010 continues, this time with 16 to 20. Three of the best scoring guards and two of the most difficult power forwards to defend in the nation make the cut.

16. Deshaun Thomas, PF, Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Luers

Big, strong combo forward that should shine in Big Ten play. Can score inside and out. Could become a big-time physical defender, too.

17. Doron Lamb, SG, Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy

Big time scorer in the backcourt. Master of the floater. Jump shot becoming much more reliable from deep. One of the most clutch players in the class.

18. Dion Waiters, PG/SG, Burlington (N.J.) Life Center Academy

One of the best in the country at getting to the basket. Absolutely a beast to defend because of his strength with the ball. Big-time winner, too.

COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE

19. Josh Selby, SG, Baltimore (Md.) Lake Clifton

Enigmatic scorer. Crazy shot selection and a little too inconsistent. But when he’s on, he’s special. The long-armed guard is the best streaky scorer in the nation.

20. Patric Young, PF, Jacksonville (Fla.) Paxon School (pictured)

Major motor. Major body. Major rebounder/dunker. Lacks offensive skill set right now but give him two/three years in college, Young could be shaking hands with David Stern.
